Cheparinov: Cheparinov´s 1.d4! Vol. 2 The Slav and Semi Slav

Produktinformationen "Cheparinov: Cheparinov´s 1.d4! Vol. 2 The Slav and Semi Slav"

The Slav encompasses a wide but solid body of theory. Black has plenty of options and finding advantages and practical chances was not easy at all. In any case. From amateurs to very strong players, I believe that every chess player will appreciate this book.

Welcome to Volume 2 of Cheparinov’s 1.d4!.

In the second part of the series, I am sharing my knowledge about the Slav Defense. I am confident that the book contains many new and interesting ideas and I have tried to provide you with the best practical options. Objectively speaking Black looks good in many lines but in practice things may look different. While I cannot promise you a big advantage in each line, I do believe you will have the best practical chances during the game. Writing the second volume was very challenging for me. The Slav encompasses a wide but solid body of theory. Black has plenty of options and finding advantages and practical chances was not easy at all. In any case. From amateurs to very strong players, I believe that every chess player will appreciate this book. While the Covid pandemic gave me a lot of free time to concentrate on the book, I am very happy to see that many tournaments are back. This means that my book can be useful and you may actually be able to apply some of the ideas in your games. The best way to use this book is to first examine the lines on an actual board and then check them with an engine. I hope this method of study increases your understanding of the positions that arise from the Slave. This book can be a very important starting point for building your 1.d4 repertoire.

Castellanos: Playing the Nimzo-Indian
The Nimzo-Indian Defence is an ideal weapon for Black at all levels. It has been popular for over a century due to its positional soundness, yet has experienced a revolution in recent years, with modern analysis increasingly highlighting its dynamic potential. Playing the Nimzo-Indian offers a complete repertoire for Black after 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 Bb4, with an active, counterattacking emphasis on the choice of lines. The forthcoming companion volume, Beating the Queen’s Gambit – Indian Style!, will complete the coverage of 1.d4 Nf6 from Black’s perspective by covering White’s alternatives on moves 2 and 3, with 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 d5 the biggest topic.  With bulletproof analysis, more novelties than we could keep track of, and deep explanations of plans and concepts, Playing the Nimzo-Indian offers everything you need to learn and play the Nimzo-Indian successfully.    kartoniert, Quality Chess

Castellanos: Beating the Queen’s Gambit – Indian Style!
This book advocates the 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.Nf3 d5 move order for Black – with 3.Nc3 Bb4 having been covered in the sister volume Playing the Nimzo-Indian. By waiting for the knight to appear on f3 before transposing to a Queen’s Gambit, Black reduces White’s options. Spanish GM Renier Castellanos completes his cutting-edge repertoire for Black against 1.d4, with the Vienna Variation (4.Nc3 dxc4) and Catalan (4.g3 dxc4) the biggest topics. This book also provides thorough guidance against all of White’s significant alternatives on moves 2-4. With thoughtful explanations backed up by precise analysis, Beating the Queen’s Gambit – Indian Style! provides everything you need to handle 1.d4 Nf6 variations where White avoids the Nimzo-Indian Defence. 312 Seiten, gebunden, Quality Chess

Chen: The Thinker’s Game – Decoding the Chess Universe
This book is written for beginners who are interested in the game and would like to learn more about its various aspects. It covers the technical aspects of chess: the use of algebraic notation (Chapter 3), chess evaluation (Chapter 4), the opening phase (Chapter 5), the middle game (Chapter 6), the endgame (Chapter 7), and the chess rating system (Chapter 8). It introduces a number of chess problems, formulated with a chess board and chess pieces and presupposing a working knowledge of chess (Chapter 9). It offers an account of variants of chess such as Fischer random chess (Chapter 10). It also covers the cultural aspects of chess: its history (Chapter 2) and status as an immortal game that might enable it to play a role in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (Chapter 11). Wherever possible, chess diagrams are provided to help chess beginners make sense of certain points about chess. Algebraic notation will also guide them in understanding certain chess-based lines of reasoning. Whenever you are ready, let us begin this odyssey of chess. “Chess is a fiercely competitive, strategic game – and so much more than that. Chess is history and a powerful metaphor with deep cultural meaning. Chess is a global language, which speaks to philosophy and education. In his new book, Melvin Chen provides a much-needed holistic view on our beloved ancient game.” GM Judit Polgar, August 2024. 168 Seiten, gebunden, Thinkers Publishing

Boder & Bielczyk: The Magic and Beauty of Quiet Chess Moves
Beauty in chess manifests itself in different ways. For chess players who are not sophisticated enough, one of the leading aesthetic criteria is probably the value of the offered piece. An experienced player will primarily value the originality and purity of the idea. It happens that a key to a position is a seemingly discreet move. Situations like these have always impressed me the most. Firstly, by their mystery: why does one of several apparently equivalent moves turn out to be much stronger than the others? Secondly, a modest move can radically change a well-established position assessment and even change the outcome of the game straight away. Where did the idea for this kind of work come from? There are two reasons. Firstly, while browsing chess literature, I have not found a publication focusing on quiet moves, as most often, only three to eight examples are given. Secondly, we have always felt sorry for a person who cannot see beauty, for example of mountains (as these are just rocks) or architecture (as the Eiffel Tower is just iron), etc. The same applies to a large group of chess players, who value only the size of the piece they offered or the victory. However, one can lose a game and feel satisfaction because, for example, they found a stunning quiet move in their game. 304 Seiten, gebunden, Thinkers Publishing

Cheparinov: Cheparinov´s 1.d4! Vol. 1 King´s Indian & Grünfeld
In this first volume of Cheparinov’s 1.d4! readers will find my own way of working on openings, and the way I analyze. Many of the lines and conclusions in this book are based not only on computer evaluation, but also on the practical point of view. Of course all the lines have been deeply analyzed by strong engines, and although I am sure they are not perfect, the most important thing is that all evaluations are based on my own understanding and knowledge of chess. I believe this book should be used as a starting point, from which to build progress in opening preparation.” ~ Ivan Cheparinov 191 Seiten, kartoniert, Verlag Thinkers Publishing
